FAQ

Q: Why should I join CSDC? What will I get out of it?

A. We have a great team dynamic focused on fitness, fun and friendship. In many ways we are a family that is supportive and caring of each other. We work hard and challenge ourselves and each other to be the best we can be. We push ourselves to the highest levels to consistently achieve high level results.

Q. Level of Commitment expected?

A. A high level of commitment is expected from all members. Attendance at all practices and races is expected.

Q. Can I only train and not race? What if I can’t commit fully this year?

A. The Executive Committee and Coach will assess each request separately but we will consider allowing new recruits to train with us for a season to work on technique and improve their fitness level.

Q. Is there a minimum amount of races guaranteed for everybody? How does the roster get set for races?

A. All race rosters are set by the Coach at his discretion with the objective of having the best crew in each race. Fitness assessments, commitment to the program and attendance at practices will be taken into consideration as well as trying to balance the boat.

A. For the gender based crews the roster will consist of club members and if necessary may include additional paddlers from other teams who have met our standards and practiced with us.

A. As we are a competitive team and want to have the strongest team at all times, there is no guaranteed number of races. We believe in competing for a seat.
